AGSC to Hold CE Course for Insurance Agents at Auto Glass Week™

The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) plans to hold a continuing education (CE) course for insurance agents during Auto Glass Week™ this fall. The course will be held on Friday, October 7, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Insurance company agents and representatives can attend free of charge.

New Video Created to Educate Insurers, Consumers about AGSC

The Auto Glass Safety Council™’s (AGSC) Marketing Committee has created a new video aimed at teaching insurers and consumers about the AGSC. The video provides a history of the AGSC along with a detailed look at why proper windshield installations are crucial. It also explains the importance of utilizing AGSC Registered Member Companies and provides an overview of the third-party validation program in which Registered Member Companies agree to participate.

David Robinson to Serve as Keynote Speaker for Auto Glass Week™ 2016

Auto Glass Week™ 2016 organizers have announced that David Robinson will serve as the 2016 keynote speaker. Auto Glass Week is held annually and gathers those from all facets of the auto glass industry, including insurance company representatives who wish to learn more about the auto glass arena. Robinson was honored as Sports Illustrated’s Ambassador of Sports for their 50th anniversary celebration, inducted into the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame in 1998, and received the 1999 Montblanc de la Culture Award, the first athlete and youngest recipient in the award’s history.

The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) has published its first-ever annual membership directory. The 175-page directory includes a brief history of the AGSC; information about its mission; a listing of its board of directors and all committee chairs; a listing of all AGSC Registered Membered Companies, both in alphabetical order and by state and zip code; a listing of all AGSC associate members; a list of all AGSC Registered Training Programs; and a copy of the ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS™ 003-2015 Standard.

Hot-Weather Installations: Why Following Directions is Crucial

The outside temperature plays a role in all outdoor installations, so it is especially important for technicians to consider the temperature during extreme seasons, such as summer and winter. “ … I have researched this issue and found that there are different consequences for applying adhesives beyond their temperature limits,” says industry expert Bob Beranek, who chairs the Auto Glass Safety Council™’s (AGSC) AGRSS™ Standards Committee. “They can include bonding deficiencies, application problems and storage concerns.”
