AGSC Holds Spring Committee Meetings
The spring meetings of the Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) were held last week in Tampa, Fla. The meetings were the first in which the members of the former National Windshield Repair Association (NWRA) were incorporated into the AGSC.

Certification News

Welcome These Master Auto Glass Technicians
Several auto glass technicians passed the Auto Glass Safety Council™’s (AGSC) Master Auto Glass Technician certification exam during the month of February. The exam is an online test consisting of 70 multiple choice questions. Those who apply to become Master Auto Glass Technicians must have experience and knowledge in: OSHA-required employee safety regulations; conducting all installations according to the current ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS™ Standard.

New Mexico Bill Addresses Service Contract Renewals

A bill is under review in the New Mexico legislature that aims to “declar[e] as an unlawful practice the automatic renewal of consumer contracts or continuation of delivery of products or services without prior consumer consent; requir[e] certain disclosures in offers to renew contracts for and continue delivery of products or services to consumers; [and] requir[e] that consumers be provided with an option to terminate those contracts or continuing deliveries.”

Honda Recalls One Million Vehicles
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Honda is recalling 1.1 million Honda and Acura vehicles in the United States that received a defective driver’s airbag either as a permanent Takata airbag recall replacement or as a service part installed following a crash or problem with the airbag itself.

How Four Recalls May Impact Your Business
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued four recalls with implications for the auto glass industry. The recalls affect Nissan Altima, Mercedes Benz recently published four recalls that may affect your business. The three vehicle makes included in the recall are Nissan North America Inc. (Nissan), a variety of Mercedes Benz models, and Subaru’s 2018 Legacy, Outback, and BRZ models. Mercedes Benz and Subaru both have notified its affected vehicle owners.
