"Applying to become an Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) Registered Member company may seem like an overwhelming task based on the application documents, but it really is not. One of the biggest issues I see with companies seeking AGSC registration is that some submit incomplete applications. The documents that must be completed in order to become an AGSC Registered Member company are the Application to Become a Registered Member Company; Attachment B-Declaration of Standard Conformance; and the deliverable documents." -Kathy Bimber

AGSC Aims to Increase Number of Certified Techs with Regional Training Courses
The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) held a free regional training course in April in Texas, and now has another scheduled for this October in Baltimore, to be held as part of Auto Glass Week™. Standards committee chair and industry expert Bob Beranek, president of Automotive Glass Consultants in Sun Prairie, Wis., is teaching the courses. “We felt that if we could help the technicians pass the certification exam it would help the industry in two ways,” says Beranek.

NHTSA Upgrades Kia Sorento Investigation over Claims of Sunroof Breakage
The National Highway Safety Traffic Administration has upgraded its investigation into 2011-2013 Kia Sorentos for possible “sunroof implosion” by opening an “engineering analysis.” The NHTSA Office of Defect Investigation (ODI) has now received 26 complaints on sunroof breakage, up from 15 previously reported when the initial investigation was opened in October 2013.
