AGSC Offers Video in Online Format for Members
The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) has created an online format through which members can place its recently created video on their websites. The video, recently released in DVD format, was created for members to show to both insurance agents and customers.

Additional Copies of Member Directory Now Available
The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) recently published its first-ever member directory and mailed it out to all Registered Member Companies. Registered Member Companies can now also order additional copies of the directory for their own use. The 175-page member directory includes a brief history of the AGSC; information about its mission; a listing of its board of directors and all committee chairs; a listing of all AGSC Registered Membered Companies, both in alphabetical order and by state and zip code; a listing of all AGSC associate members; a list of all AGSC Registered Training Programs; and a copy of the ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS™ 003-2015 Standard.

AGSC to Hold “Lunch-and-Learn” CE Course for Insurance Agents at Auto Glass Week™
The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) plans to hold a “lunch-and-learn” continuing education (CE) course for insurance agents during Auto Glass Week™ this fall. The course will be held on Friday, October 7. Auto Glass Week will be held October 5-7 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio.

AGSC to Hold Annual Silent Auction on October 6
The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) will hold its tenth annual silent charity auction on October 6, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., at the cocktail party during Auto Glass Week™. Auto Glass Week will be held October 5-7 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio. Additionally, the AGSC will hold its annual member meeting on Tuesday, October 4, in San Antonio.

Welcome These Certified Master Auto Glass Technicians
Auto Glass Safety CouncilA number of auto glass technicians passed the Auto Glass Safety Council™’s (AGSC) Certified Master Auto Glass Technician certification exam during the month of June. The exam is an online test consisting of 50 multiple choice questions. Those who apply to become Accredited Master Auto Glass Technicians must have experience and knowledge in: OSHA-required employee safety regulations; conducting all installations according to the current ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS™ Standard; intermediate-level automotive electrical testing and troubleshooting procedures and equipment; OEM sunroof repair and replacement techniques; advanced wind noise and water leak diagnosis and repair; and current standards and regulations that apply to the auto glass industry.

David Robinson to Serve as Keynote Speaker for Auto Glass Week™ 2016
Auto Glass Week™ 2016 organizers have announced that David Robinson will serve as the 2016 keynote speaker. Robinson was honored as Sports Illustrated’s Ambassador of Sports for their 50th anniversary celebration, inducted into the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame in 1998, and received the 1999 Montblanc de la Culture Award, the first athlete and youngest recipient in the award’s history.

Volkswagen Recalls Certain Audi Models over Sunroof Issue
Volkswagen is recalling model-year 2007-2009 Audi A8 and S8 vehicles saying the sunroof glass may not be properly secured and may detach from the car while driving.

Nissan Recommends OEM Glass, Says Some Mirrors Cannot Be Reused
Nissan says OEM glass should be used for windshield replacements and points to the relationship between glass and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) as a reason. Company officials also say some mirrors cannot be reused and address ADAS recalibration, among other topics, in a bevy of position statements released this month.
