AGSC to Hold Member Meeting and CE Course for Insurers in Florida
The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) will hold its 2017 annual member meeting on Tuesday, October 3, in West Palm Beach, Fla., from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The meeting will be held the day before Auto Glass Week™ 2017, October 4-6, kicks off. Auto Glass Week will be held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center and Hilton West Palm Beach.

"The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) periodically publishes the list of errors seen during its validations. The purpose of this is to assist all member companies in avoiding these errors and to improve their own compliance and effectiveness.
In 2016, the following errors were documented. They are listed in order of frequency. Those with the same frequency are grouped together. Some locations had more than one error; other locations had no documented errors." -Penny Ouellette

Welcome These Certified Master Auto Glass Technicians
A number of auto glass technicians passed the Auto Glass Safety Council™’s (AGSC) Certified Master Auto Glass Technician certification exam during the month of December. The exam is an online test consisting of 70 multiple choice questions. Those who apply to become Accredited Master Auto Glass Technicians must have experience and knowledge in: OSHA-required employee safety regulations; conducting all installations according to the current ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS™ Standard; intermediate-level automotive electrical testing and troubleshooting procedures and equipment; OEM sunroof repair and replacement techniques; advanced wind noise and water leak diagnosis and repair; and current standards and regulations that apply to the auto glass industry.

Registration Open for New York, Florida and California Training Sessions
Registration is now open for the Auto Glass Safety Council™’s (AGSC) upcoming regional training accreditation programs to be held in Huntingon, N.Y., in March, Irvine, Calif., in June and West Palm Beach, Fla., in October.

Mercedes-Benz Issues Recall over Windshield Issue
Mercedes-Benz USA has issued a recall for several models because of a defect that could cause the windshield to separate from the vehicle.

Nissan Recalls More than 300,000 Vehicles
Nissan North America has recently issued a recall on certain 2015-2017 Altima sedans due to faulty wiring of rear windows. According to the notice, 341,005 vehicles may be affected.

Audi Recalls 500,000+ Vehicles
Audi is recalling nearly a quarter million vehicles due to a sunroof drainage defect, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) report. Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. is recalling 234,054 2011-2017 Audi Q5 vehicles.

General Motors Issues Recalls on Suburban HD and Malibu
General Motors LLC (GM) has issued a recall for certain 2016-2017 Chevrolet Suburban HD vehicles due to improperly assembled side view mirrors. The recall was issued on January 12, and applies to 214 vehicles.
