Prepping a Windshield with a Rain Sensor
“I had an inquiry recently from one of our Auto Glass University graduates. His question reminded me that there are some common problems that technicians should address when prepping a windshield with a rain sensor. There are two types of rain sensor mountings. In one type the rain sensor is attached to a pre-applied lens, and the other is where the lens is part of the sensor and the unit uses an optically-clear pad to fill the gap between the lens and the glass surface.” –Bob Beranek

Welcome These Certified Master Auto Glass Technicians
A number of auto glass technicians passed the Auto Glass Safety Council™’s (AGSC) Certified Master Auto Glass Technician certification exam during the month of November. The exam is an online test consisting of 50 multiple choice questions. Those who apply to become Accredited Master Auto Glass Technicians must have experience and knowledge in: OSHA-required employee safety regulations; conducting all installations according to the current ANSI/AGSC/AGRSS™ Standard; intermediate-level automotive electrical testing and troubleshooting procedures and equipment; OEM sunroof repair and replacement techniques; advanced wind noise and water leak diagnosis and repair; and current standards and regulations that apply to the auto glass industry.

Date Set for 2016 AGSC Member Meeting
The Auto Glass Safety Council™ (AGSC) has announced that its 2016 annual member meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 4, in San Antonio, Texas, at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter. The meeting will be held the day before Auto Glass Week™, October 5-7, kicks off. Auto Glass Week will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter, all located right on the city’s beautiful Riverwalk.
